Chris Hortinela serves as Assistant Vice President, Community Relations Officer, where he is dedicated to strengthening relationships between local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations throughout the Central Coast. He brings more than a decade of experience building partnerships across the nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors. In his previous work, he led international sustainability initiatives that brought together government agencies, nonprofits, universities, and businesses to tackle public health issues around the world.
After focusing much of his career on national and international initiatives, Chris is excited to apply his background to the Santa Barbara and Central Coast community, where he helps connect organizations and support projects that benefit the region.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Chris is passionate about conservation and experiencing nature through fly fishing. He serves on the boards of several nonprofits focused on protecting natural habitats and helping people connect with the outdoors.
